I received my âForest Whisperâ Alto C ocarina this morning, and since it’s my first ocarina, I can’t compare it to others. However, Iâm quite impressed with this little instrument on its first day.
It has a beautiful appearance with earthy colors and a silky finish, making it delightful to hold. I also find the included case very practical.
The sound is lovelyâsweet and soft, and it seems to be perfectly tuned. If I hit a wrong note, it’s likely due to my lack of experience. After a short warm-up, I was able to play various children’s songs and folk tunes from memory. I even ended the day by playing Mononoke Hime, which sounds wonderful on it.
While I know becoming a professional player requires much more practice, this ocarina is far more than just a toy or a decorative piece. It offers a genuinely enjoyable playing experience.

A true test of quality is seen over time. The product arrived with a convenient carrying case for the Ocarina, which I find very practical. In my opinion, I recommend it.

The product arrived much earlier than expected, and the ocarina itself is quite beautiful. It comes with a case and a decorative cord. The book included has some incomplete melodies, but overall, I was quite satisfied. The sound quality is excellent; I highly recommend it.

First of all, the Ocarina plays all the noted tones (verified with a tuning app), but as a beginner, I find it quite challenging. I don’t have any comparisons with other Ocarinas. The design of the Ocarina I received is different from the one shown in the picture, likely due to variations in the firing technique. It’s not a flaw, but it’s interesting to note. There are certainly higher-quality Ocarinas out there, but for the price, this instrument is quite good. I really enjoy playing it, which is why Iâm giving it a 5-star rating.
Now, regarding the accessories: The carrying case is suitable for storage, but it’s not absolutely protective against breaks. Additionally, the strap only fits narrow belts. However, the Velcro holds very well, and both the Ocarina and songbook fit inside. The securing chain while playing is very handy (providing extra security) and matches the images. The cord is thin yet very sturdy.
I’m least satisfied with the songbook. While it includes a brief explanation of how to handle and play the Ocarina (in English), it doesn’t explain how to read the tabs in the book. With some musical knowledge and a bit of research on Ocarinas, one can get by fairly quickly.
Initially, various fingering charts are presented, but you need some background knowledge to understand that they relate to the specific Ocarina you are playing (C, F, or G). I was also a bit confused since it uses Latin note names instead of c, d, e, etc. The songs themselves are presented in numbered tabs and fingering diagrams. When following the diagrams, be sure they correspond to your Ocarina, as indicated above the song. Most are for C Ocarinas like this one, but you can also play songs for F and G for practice.

This ocarina is truly exceptional. First off, it’s the most ergonomic ocarina I’ve ever used. Getting accustomed to it is a breeze, and the pure, resonant sound is incredibly captivating. It has a solid weight, making it sturdy and stable, and playing it feels almost effortless! The breath flows through it seamlessly, and the strategically placed holes make hitting the notes easy, even for a beginner like myself.
Aesthetically, this ocarina is a masterpiece. With its matte finish, it stands apart from the typical glossy ceramic options. While glossy ocarinas have their charm, the Forest Whisper offers a refreshing alternative with its balanced blend of simple elegance and delicate detail. It has a rustic yet mystical vibe. The enchanting sound and beautiful colors evoke imagery of an ancient oak being serenaded by a fantasy druid, and even up close, I’m captivated by the vivid imagery it inspires.
The beaded necklace adds to its allure. However, Iâve experienced it coming undone a couple of times, so I strongly advise against letting it dangle freely! Thatâs what the pouch is for. This ocarina is heavy, and if it falls, it could break, which would be heartbreaking given its beauty. The necklace is meant to prevent accidental drops, not serve as a permanent fixture, and it does its job wellâabsorbing shock and preventing falls. Itâs both sturdy and beautiful, enhancing the ocarinaâs enchanting aesthetic.
The pouch is equally impressive, featuring a strong yet unobtrusive Velcro seal. The wide strap is durable and has never caused me any issues. It’s perfectly sized and shaped for the ocarina and surprisingly lightweight, which is a plus given the ocarina’s weight. As someone who frequently uses belt pouches, I can confidently say this one is great. I no longer have to rely on my plastic pouch for playing on the go!
In summary, this is the finest ocarina I own and my absolute favorite. The Forest Whisper excels in every aspect, from its effortlessly beautiful sound to the ancient, wild essence it embodies. I wholeheartedly recommend it to both new and experienced players!

I want to share my thoughts regarding the previous comment. I’ve had this ocarina in my cart multiple times before deciding to purchase it, often influenced by negative reviews. However, I’m thrilled that I finally bought it! The sound is crystal clear, even with the higher notes. Each ocarina has its own playing style, but I found this one easy to handle. I’ve tested the scales and vibrato, and I’m impressed. The color is beautiful, and it’s a manageable sizeâslightly on the heavier side, but I’m very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend it; the quality is great and the price is affordable. I’ve included some photos to show how lovely it is, with beautifully contrasting colors.

I can articulate all the notes distinctly, extending beyond a single octave. Although I’m an amateur, I can easily produce the full scale of do re mi fa sol la to do, plus three additional high notes. A notable feature of this ocarina is its design, which includes large holes that allow for easy production of sharp and flat notes by partially covering them, much like playing the black keys on a piano. This particular design also features small holes adjacent to the larger ones, enabling further modulation of pitches. Overall, the sound produced by this ocarina is exceptional.
Design: The design is flawless, with all holes conveniently positioned for easy and secure covering. The craftsmanship is impressive, and the color and finish of the ocarina are striking. People I’ve shown the “Forest Whisper” ocarina to often mistake it for dark cherry or mahogany wood due to its beautiful appearance.
Extra: The ocarina came with a lovely pouch. While I donât plan to travel with it, a soft bag or a box is advisable for protection during transport. I find the pouch useful for storage, as it prevents dust accumulation and scratches. Additionally, I discovered a charming necklace string with greenish beads two weeks later. However, it wasnât attached, and securing it properly can be a bit tricky to avoid self-untangling.
Minor Issue: There is a slight issue with the coating; when you bring it to your mouth, you can detect a faint smell of paint or lacquer. While the odor isnât overpowering and doesnât bother me, it may not appeal to everyone. Importantly, the coating is secure and doesnât smear, as the instrument has been thoroughly baked and dried. I would consider subtracting half a star for this, but since that isnât an option, Iâll stick with a full five stars.
