It may not offer professional precision, but given the price, you can’t expect too much. It’s great for getting started, and now I’m considering purchasing a double or triple chamber ocarina since you can quickly feel limited unless you have a decent grasp of music or are committed to learning. The cost can escalate quickly, anywhere from 5 to 30 times the price of this one. I also added a mute, which is somewhat pricey (but it’s transferable between ocarinas! There’s only one model I know of that you can order from Japan for around €40). It’s essential if you want to play without disturbing those around you; otherwise, you’ll only be able to practice alone in your room. The mute reduces the volume by about a third to half, which is significant since the default volume can be quite loud—this can easily become overwhelming for others and might discourage you from using it, which would be a shame given its beautiful sound.

My granddaughter enjoys this ocarina, but it feels more like a whistle to me. The pitch is much higher than I anticipated for an alto instrument. As a musician, I wouldn’t categorize it as alto. Additionally, it’s quite delicate; it broke after she accidentally dropped it on the carpet shortly after I gave it to her. She can still play it, but I won’t be purchasing another one. It is beautiful, or at least it was before it broke.

I regret to say that this ocarina is out of tune and not properly calibrated. The positioning of the last hole is also incorrect. To fix it, the holes would need to be filed down. Unfortunately, my white ocarina has a detached ceramic piece inside, which makes this adjustment impossible without risking damage to the instrument. Could this be a case of bad luck? Absolutely! However, the seller was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional in addressing the issue with the manufacturer. Overall, I am very pleased with this experience and will continue to purchase products from mguitarstore!

This was the first ocarina I ever tried, and I was impressed by its beautiful tone—clear and warm. It includes a nice bead necklace that can be attached if you wish. The songbook that comes with it is small but very accurate and comprehensive. Unfortunately, I had to part with it because the smaller holes, which need to be covered along with the larger ones for certain notes, were too challenging for my fingers. I needed an ocarina with closer hole spacing. From what I’ve seen, this seems to be a standard ocarina, but my thin, bony fingers made it difficult to play.
