If you’re looking for perfection, this may not be for you. However, for most people, this flute is attractive and offers solid sound quality. The keys function well, and the pads are satisfactory. It’s an excellent choice for a first flute or a reliable second instrument. It’s also perfect for those who prefer not to risk an expensive flute during tours or marching band. Overall, it’s impressively good for the price.

Sounds fantastic and plays smoothly. I’m enjoying learning Jethro Tull songs.

I ordered the sea blue version of this flute and I’m pleasantly surprised by its value for the price. The color is stunning, and it plays beautifully. The packaging arrived without any issues, and as soon as I opened it and started playing, I noticed my sound improving more than usual during practice. If you decide to order one, just let it play, and save your judgment for the end of your session. I highly recommend it for beginners. Kids are drawn to colors, so choosing a color they love can really motivate them to play and practice.
When I was learning the flute, I found some fingerings quite challenging at first, and there’s always a risk of dropping it. It’s definitely better to drop an $80 flute than one that costs over $1,000. Of course, avoiding drops is ideal, but accidents can happen. I appreciate the small screwdriver and extras included in the package. I suggest applying a bit of the included grease, especially on the sliding foot joint, as it will make disassembly easier at the end of your session.
Note that the headjoint fits more loosely than the foot joint on mine, so keep that in mind when assembling it for the first time. If you play a flute with a B foot, using a C foot flute can allow you to revisit fingerings you may have forgotten, which can be beneficial for your technique. Overall, this flute offers excellent value for the money. I plan to play it until the pads wear out, and then it will serve as a display piece. Enjoy! ✌️

Arrived the next day, which was fantastic. It came exactly as described and shown in the picture. I highly recommend purchasing it.

I am absolutely amazed! Having played the flute for nearly my entire life, I was in search of a practice instrument to keep at my city condo, eliminating the hassle of transporting my Yamaha back and forth. When I came across this flute at such an incredible price, I was intrigued but skeptical about its quality, especially since I didn’t want to spend hundreds on an instrument that would mainly be for practice. I was drawn in by the appealing colors.
When the package arrived and I opened the box, I first saw the soft-sided case and my expectations were low. However, I was in for a delightful surprise. As I assembled the flute, I was taken aback by the stunning metallic blue body paired with the shiny gold-colored keys—absolutely eye-catching!
Now came the true test. I placed it to my lips and played two octaves of scales repeatedly. I was blown away by the crystal-clear, smooth tone and the effortless vibrato. The pads sealed perfectly with the lightest touch, and the keys responded flawlessly. I anticipated some adjustment with the spring tension, but I had no issues at all. With my eyes closed, I genuinely couldn’t tell the difference between this instrument and my $3000 Yamaha.
I tried playing a bit of Irish music, some Bach, a touch of jazz, and even a Jethro Tull piece. I can confidently say I found an excellent practice instrument! For those with a trained ear, especially fellow flutists, the distinction in sound quality between a high-end flute and this one is noticeable.
In summary, if you’re looking for a solid, budget-friendly practice flute, look no further. If you have a child interested in learning the flute, this is the perfect choice! With such a small investment, you could set them on a rewarding musical journey. Or maybe you played flute in high school or college and want to see if those skills are still there—this flute is ideal for that too! Grab one along with some sheet music and start playing in your basement. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it feels to hold this lovely instrument and how genuinely excellent the sound is.

This flute far surpassed my expectations! While it may not be professional grade, it’s an incredible choice for beginners. It’s ideal for those who are learning and getting accustomed to playing the flute. I’ve noticed that many of my students would practice more if they had easier access to their instruments. I’ve also seen parents spend a lot on renting or purchasing high-end flutes, only for their kids to change their minds the following year. The sound quality is fantastic, though the joints could be a bit tighter.

As a professional flutist, I was in search of an affordable beginner flute to recommend to my students. After trying it out, I was pleased to find that it plays in tune, has a lovely tone, and is visually appealing. The quality of this flute is impressive for its price—it’s definitely not a low-quality instrument. It comes with a cleaning kit, which is essential for every flute player, and the case is decent, complete with a shoulder strap.
I bought this flute from the seller for $69.99 in May 2015, and while the price has increased slightly since then, it’s still a fantastic deal for a flute under $100.
If you’re considering this flute, you’ll notice it features an offset G and a C foot. The offset G means that the key for the left-hand ring finger is positioned a bit away from the other keys, making it easier for beginners to reach. I have offset G keys on all my intermediate and professional flutes, so it’s a great addition for a student model.
The C foot is standard on student flutes, allowing the lowest note to be low C (middle C on a piano). This is suitable for the music that beginner flutists typically learn in their first few years, which rarely goes below this note. Although a B foot allows for playing the low B, which is more common in advanced pieces, many professional flutists choose to stick with the C foot, and I know several who do.
While I’m uncertain how well this flute will hold up under a beginner’s rough handling (such as dropping or hitting it against a music stand), I believe it offers a better value than renting or using a school-rented instrument. If cared for properly—with clean hands and mouths to avoid moisture buildup, regular cleaning with the provided swab cloth, and wiping off fingerprints after use—it could last for many years before needing a tune-up at a repair shop.

I purchased this for my 10-year-old, and it’s a great instrument. The sound quality is quite good, especially for a beginner.
